We’re partnering with our friends over at Congress Coffee for some lower body ties.

Tickets will be sold per person.

Partials and Predicaments
June 28, 2026 @ 2:30p – 4:30p
In this class we will explore partial suspensions and predicaments. Come spend an afternoon with us learning a few poses to give our humans an illusion of choice between something challenging vs something difficult all the while keeping them (mostly) on the ground.
If you’re wanting to explore partial suspensions (or get introduced to suspensions) – this is the class for you. We will be covering some basic poses, uplines and you’ll only need to come to class knowing a single column tie.
Tickets are sold per tying pair.

Weekend Intensive with Brooklyn and HatmanJack – slow burn partial suspensions
Sept 19 – 20, 2026 (6 hours each day)
What does it mean to struggle, suffer, or surrender?
How do we find meaning in rope that pushes our physical and emotional limits?
In this workshop, we ask participants – tops and bottoms alike – to question what their emotional relationship to challenging rope is. Through a series of partial suspensions, we will examine different perspectives on semenawa (“tormenting rope”). By looking at semenawa as a conceptual framework, we hope to explore how physical challenges, aesthetics, and the “slow burn” progressive way of tying can create a container for exploring emotional intimacies and vulnerabilities.
We hope that you will leave this intensive with not only a set of “slow burn” partial sequences to explore, but also technical, aesthetic, active bottoming, and intrapersonal strategies to help you navigate physical challenges and deepen the emotional experiences that come from this approach to tying.
Tickets are sold per tying pair – ticket includes Saturday evening rope jam and performance

Bound for Display: Clothing Play, Objectification, and the Act of Coming Undone
Sept 20th at 6-8p
Ready to get unbuttoned? This class explores how to use clothing alongside rope to play with themes of objectification, exposure, fetishization, power, and plain ol’ hotness. You’ll learn how to twist, tie, and manipulate garments to enhance your rope scenes, contributing to both the visual impact and the psychological tone, rather than getting in the way.
This class is open to all levels but a basic knowledge of a single-column tie is required.
Taught by Brooklyn and James, this class draws from our lived experiences as rope partners navigating dynamics of beauty, control, and desire. We’ll share what makes objectification hot for us, and invite you to explore what it means for you and your partner. This is a class explicitly focused on play strategies, so please attend with a partner you’re comfortable exploring emotional and physical play with.
Tickets are sold per tying pair.

Rope Jam and Performance
Sept 19th at 7-10p
Come do some rope, be social and hangout with a bunch of rope nerds and we’ll have Brooklyn and Hatman Jack give us a small performance to kick the night off!
Rope jams are an open space format. Part hangout, part jamming with other like-minded people who are into rope. Come hangout, watch people do rope-y stuff or do some yourself.
Note if you’ve bought the weekend intensive you’ve already secured tickets to this event!
Tickets are sold per person.

ROPE PHILOSOPHY AND TEACHING STYLE
When it comes to tying rope, i.e., shibari or Japanese rope bondage, Deadheavy’s personal and functional approach has always been to understand it as a system of interchangeable and repeatable components. From there, he explores the why - why does a component work, how does it work, and how does it communicate with other components of a larger structure or harness. When teaching rope, he would rather support students’ understanding on why each component is needed in a tie rather than simply being able to recreate a specific harness or pattern.
“I feel like in North America, rope is often taught backwards. We learn how to tie a harness and how to it functions, while skipping the fundamentals of rope: how to connect with your partner, tension, rope handling and communication.” - Deadheavy
While the function of the rope is always top of mind when Deadheavy ties, his primary focus is on the experience with his person being tied. This leads to the rope bottom’s experience being a common thread in his teaching style - focusing on rope flow, and communication.
ABOUT
Deadheavy (he/him) is passionate about rope education and sharing his love of rope with others. He has been practicing rope seriously since 2010.
Deadheavy is drawn to the classical patterns and poses of Japanese rope bondage as with those contraints it allows him to be more creative. He enjoys the headspace that he gets into when tying - the intersection of connection, technical execution and problem solving. Deadheavy loves that the rope experience is a collaborative effort and believes that through rope, one has the ability to co-create ephemeral experiences that won’t ever exist again.
“It forces you to live in the moment with your rope partner and I live for those moments.” - Deadheavy
In 2010, Deadheavy attended his first conference devoted to shibari. The first class that he went to (over the four days of conference) was a demonstration of erotic humiliation with rope by a D/s couple - he was instantly enthralled. He knew he wanted to ‘do that’ and took every single class those instructors taught over that weekend.
When he arrived at the conference’s dungeon party that night and entered a room with 300+ rope people with suspension points as far as you could see, he knew this was where he belonged.
Since that day, Deadheavy has been tying regularly and frequently attending rope conferences and intensives to fine tune his skills.
"That's why Lao-Tzu said 'the five colors make a man blind, the five tones make a man deaf,' because if you can only see five colors, you're blind, and if you can only hear five tones in music, you're deaf. You see, if you force sound into five tones, you force color into five colors, you're blind and deaf."
