Partials and Predicaments

In this class we will explore partial suspensions and predicaments. Come spend an afternoon with us learning a few poses to give our humans an illusion of choice between something challenging vs something difficult all the while keeping them (mostly) on the ground.

If you’re wanting to explore partial suspensions (or get introduced to suspensions) – this is the class for you. We will be covering some basic poses, uplines and you’ll only need to come to class knowing a single column tie.

Boxtie Deep Dive

In this technical deep dive we will cover a stemless box tie (also known as a gote, or a takate kote). The takate kote is an iconic arms behind tie that is a building block of shibari and suspension.

In this 5 hour class we will cover the first and second rope of the takate kote that we use for our suspension work. We will also cover nerve risks and nerve mapping, and shoulder locking.

Floor Play – Who needs to fly to get high

Floor play, ground work, or tying on the floor is can be an under appreciated play style. Come spend 120 minutes with us where we will show you that the only thing you need are a few hanks of rope to have a connective, emotive and hot rope scene. In this class we will explore topics of movement and flow, ways of communicating with your partner, and ways to hone your rope improv skills through observation.

Tying with Intent using the Boxtie

Know how to tie a single column tie and not sure what to do next? Lets dig deeper and explore tying with your heart. In this class we will start with a single column tie and venture into the land of rope tension, and tying with intent. With the goal of being how do we communicate what is in our heart through the rope to our partner.

Introduction to Shibari

New to bondage? This class is for you! In this class we’ll cover the basics of rope bondage. This class is designed for beginners with no previous experience, you won’t need a partner or your own rope (we have loaners available).

Agura Shibari - seated lotus position in partial suspension.

What the actual Friction? With the Agura!

May 30, 2026 @ 1p-3p

Have you ever looked at a pattern and thought “What the actual ..” and wondered about all those knots and frictions? Have you ever just wanted to “do some rope” but struggled with what knot where?

In this class we will explore those questions and more. We will work through various types of knots and frictions, their strengths, their weaknesses, what makes something suspension-worthy, and when you might want to use one knot over another all the while learning the pattern – agura shibari pattern (seated lotus).

This class is 100% solo friendly – you can tie the agura on yourself.

Tengu Shibari

The Tengu (Chest Harness)

May 30, 2026 @ 4p-6p

Do you want to learn a new chest harness? Are you interested in strengthening your understanding of what a chest harness is, and how it performs? Perhaps you want to do suspension and are looking for an alternative to the box tie?

Any/All of the above? This class is for you!

In this class, we will explore the tengu harness – a harness that puts your arms in rope beside you, instead of behind your back. We will learn about its various components, and how it might relate to other chest harnesses.

Lower Body Ties

Hips Legs and Rope

June 18, 2026 @ 7 – 9p

We’re partnering with our friends over at Congress Coffee for some lower body ties.

Hips, Legs and Rope, oh my. In this solo friendly class we will explore some patterns that involve things below the belt. In this class we will cover some fundamental lower body patterns – a thigh cuff, the gunslinger and a futomomo.
